Should You Be Tested?

Baxter is pleased to sponsor the AlphaTest^® Kit, which makes testing for Alpha-1 easy. A physician can utilize the supplied test kit to simply perform a finger prick and collect blood on a special filter paper provided with the kit and mail it to the Alpha₁Center within three days. Your test results will be returned to the physician within two weeks.

This test kit is provided to you compliments of Baxter. This test is not subject to reimbursement under Medicare, Medicaid, or other governmental or private insurance plans.

ARALAST [Alpha₁-Proteinase Inhibitor (Human)] is indicated for chronic augmentation therapy in patients having congenital deficiency of A₁-PI with clinically evident emphysema. ARALAST is not indicated as therapy for lung disease patients in whom congenital A₁-PI deficiency has not been established.
