Interview with Dr. Butler
Dr. John Butler is the Medical Director of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at SwedishAmerican Hospital and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at The University of Illinois. Previously he was Director of Intensive Care at the St. Anthony Medical Center. His wide range of experience with pulmonary diseases has made him an expert in his field. Dr. Butler sat down with us recently to share some of his knowledge about, as well as some of his own personal experiences with, alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.
According to Dr. Butler, "There are perhaps 100,000 patients in this country with alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, but of those 100,000 – because of the relative lack of knowledge of this disease – only approximately 5,000 have been diagnosed by latest count."
Watch the video and hear what Dr. Butler has to share regarding AAT Deficiency.
